Fujifilm has announced a new X-S20 mirrorless camera with AI-based autofocus, 6.2K video recording, and a high-capacity battery.

The new mid-range mirrorless camera features a 26.1MP X-Trans CMOS 4 sensor with in-body image stabilization and can be used in conjunction with the X-Processor 5. This provides a 7-stop stabilization effect for better low-light and handheld shooting.

It is equipped with a new autofocus technology based on AI deep learning that, according to the company, automatically tracks the intended subject while keeping it in focus. The advanced AF prediction algorithm enables focusing even in AF-C mode.

The back of the camera is equipped with an EVF with 2.76 million dots and a magnification of 0.62x. Below is a 1.84 million dot vari-angle touch LCD screen.

Includes 19 different film simulations, including Fujifilm’s signature Nostalgic Neg.

The camera is powered by an NP-W235 battery that extends battery life to about 800 shots or 80 minutes of 6.2K or 4K video recording. That’s almost double the previous generation.

It also internally records up to 6.2K/30fps 4:2:2 10-bit video in either F-Log2, Blackmagic RAW, or 12-bit Apple ProRes.

Each side of the camera has a USB-C port, a 3.5 mm microphone jack, and a 3.5 mm headphone jack. A user can connect the camera to her computer via USB-C and use it as a webcam. It also supports USB charging.

The camera supports previously released accessories such as the TG-BT1 tripod grip and FAN-001 cooling fan introduced with the FUJIFILM X-H2.

Finally, the X-S20 weighs just 491 grams.

The camera comes with the new XF 8 F3.5 ultra wide angle lens.

The new FUJINON XF 8mm F3.5 R WR is the company’s new ultra-wide-angle prime lens with the widest focal length yet 121-degree field of view. Equivalent to 12mm in terms of 35mm film.

The brand claims that its unique optical design provides sharp edge-to-edge vision. It consists of 12 lenses in 9 groups, including 3 aspherical lenses and 2 ED lenses. This can give it a unique dramatic perspective.

Finally, the lens weighs just 215 grams with a 62mm filter thread. It is weather resistant and can work at temperatures as low as -10°C.
