Business owners should be aware of the potential consequences of deploying the wrong type of artificial intelligence. To help them make informed decisions, DigitalBiz helps owners understand what kinds of artificial intelligence apps are best suited for their organization’s tasks and how they can positively impact their operations. I made five 2 minute videos of him.

Artificial intelligence has the power to do amazing things, from supporting machine learning research in nuclear fusion, to controlling the neural networks that power self-driving cars, to controlling fleets of AI drones, to enabling purchases on Amazon. . Unfortunately, it can also be used for malicious purposes, such as tricking unsuspecting victims, creating malware, and generating deepfake images.
That the adoption of artificial intelligence in business continues to grow by 37% each year is not surprising given its enormous ability to increase productivity by an average of 40%.
But when choosing an artificial intelligence solution, it’s imperative to ask two key questions. What type of technology is best suited for the task at hand, and what are the advantages and disadvantages of implementation?
For example, ChatGPT, one of the most popular AI tools, is a generative AI that can create new content in minutes. But it’s not wise enough to determine whether the material is accurate, or whether it’s relevant to a searcher’s query, or whether it’s a waste of time. Just spit out word combinations.
Creating content quickly saves staff time, but often results in zero engagement. This results in a snowball of wasted time trying to debug the problem after it has been distributed via online outlets.
For those digging deeper into the world of artificial intelligence, here are four major categories to consider. Each has a different level of complexity and ease of use, and each has pros and cons that need to be considered.
1. Machine learning artificial intelligence
To create a new artificial intelligence, computers have to learn. This requires enormous power, knowledge and skills in the fields of machine learning, computer science, natural language processing and data science, not just artificial intelligence itself. Neural networks use machine learning algorithms that enable deep learning from existing datasets such as nuclear fusion and human genome information. It can lead to longer time to market, higher capital requirements, and lower chances of success. However, successful companies can generate huge profits.
2. Applied Artificial Intelligence
This brings machine learning from the lab to reality, empowering machines to address real-world dilemmas such as healthcare, financial trading, supply chain management, and weather forecasting.
Applied AI is already trained on specific industry datasets. Such “off-the-shelf” deep learning can be cost-effective and effectively tackled. However, they are not always completely reliable and require human oversight for maximum success.
Applied AI’s pre-trained neural networks are a great way to fill gaps in time, budget, and staffing because they have expertise in real-world needs. Applied AI technology with deep learning for a given domain of data can be difficult to find, but in many cases, applied AI tools can readily work with an organization’s existing data. In general, staff can quickly tackle applied AI system tools with little expertise in machine learning, data science, or neural networks.
3. Generative AI
From text generation to video creation, other generative artificial intelligence systems such as ChatGPT and Google Bard can create new content that never existed before. Popular applications like Office 365 already have that functionality integrated, so many people use it.
Generative AI is best leveraged when incorporated into existing procedures where humans can double-check accuracy and ensure output relevance. For example, generating rich new content in a short period of time is very advantageous. However, if the content doesn’t answer her Google searcher’s question, it won’t be read. If it’s wrong, it creates extra workload in fixing the error. Generative AI simply provides data as words and must be supported by existing processes and procedures.
4. General Artificial Intelligence
This type of artificial intelligence is the pinnacle of machine learning and natural language processing, capable of replicating the complexities of the human mind and tackling any challenge. It surpasses the best of humans in almost every way and creates a whole new type of being. Today’s AI models may examine today’s sales data and predict tomorrow’s sales, but AGI will eventually be able to manage the entire enterprise. AGI is a concern for many, as it is far from becoming a reality. Strong AI is not necessarily responsible AI. But such advanced technology can bring great benefits.
When researching AI to fill time, budget, and staffing gaps, it’s a good idea to check how well it integrates with your current processes and procedures. A quick pilot test can help identify potential problems before making a large investment.
As a rule of thumb, the more unique the challenge, the more expertise, time, financial commitment, and business risk.
Adrian McKeon, CEO of DigitalBiz, said, “You don’t need to make a sudden leap. Think about what AI can help you with the tasks you do all the time. Whether your tasks are data-driven, repetitive, or predictive. If it’s something to do, AI will probably do it.” “Better, faster, cheaper. A small pilot for that task. He runs tests to identify potential problems. If the tests work, builds from there.”
