New OMDIA analysis shows agent AI outperforms growth rates

According to OMDIA's latest Enterprise Agent AI Software Market forecast, the Enterprise Agent AI Software market is expected to surge from $1.5 billion in 2025 to $41.8 billion by 2030. This is one of the fastest growing segments in enterprise technology.

“The agent AI market is evolving rapidly as businesses prioritize automation capabilities,” said Neil Dunay, Omdia's leading predictor.

The analysis shows that agent AI is significantly outperforming traditional generated AI at similar market stages. The first 5-year CAGR of the Generating AI (2022-2027) is projected to be 90%, while the predicted 5-year CAGR of the Agent AI (2024-2029) reaches an impressive 175%. This accelerated recruitment is driven by the prioritization of automation companies, with 39% of early recruits citing increased employee productivity as a primary motivation for cost reductions and deployment. Importantly, investments in previous generation AI infrastructures pave the way for easier market entry and quick development of agent AI, offering organizations the possibility of achieving faster returns on investments.

“The agent AI market is evolving rapidly as businesses prioritize automation capabilities,” said Neil Dunay, Omdia's leading predictor. “By 2030, Agent AI accounts for 31% of the total AI market, from just 6% in 2025.” The forecast identified automated code development as the largest use case projected to reach $8.2 billion by 2030, followed by virtual assistants (such as customer self-support agents) at $7.7 billion.
