Today, we're announcing Google AI Essentials. This is a self-paced course designed to help people in different roles and industries learn AI skills and improve their productivity. No programming skills or other experience required. And to ensure that people of all backgrounds have access to AI training, including this course, Google.org has created a series of his Launched $75 million AI Opportunity Fund. Two of the first recipients of the Google AI Opportunity Fund are the Institute for Veterans and Military Families (IVMF) and Goodwill Industries International.
In this course, you'll learn from Google's AI experts and gain hands-on experience using AI. For example, learn how to use AI tools to:
- Develop ideas and content. If you get stuck at the beginning of a project, use AI tools to brainstorm new ideas. In this course, you will use conversational AI tools to generate product concepts and create presentations to market your products.
- Make more informed decisions. Suppose you are planning an event. AI tools can help you research the best place to host based on your criteria. You can also use AI to come up with taglines and slogans.
- Speed up your daily tasks. AI can help you summarize emails and draft replies to empty your inbox faster.
Throughout this course, you'll learn how to create effective prompts to get the results you're looking for, and how to identify potential biases in AI so you can use it responsibly.
Once you complete the course, you'll receive a certificate from Google that you can share with your professional network.
We work with employers, educational institutions, and nonprofit organizations to help people use AI to learn practical skills, complete daily tasks, and improve productivity. For example, Citigroup is already working to incorporate AI Essentials into its employee learning and development programs. Miami Dade College offers Google AI Essentials to students. And Stanford Digital Education will offer AI courses to high school students enrolled in college preparatory programs.
The initiative follows Google's recently announced Generative AI for Educators course, which helps middle school and high school teachers use generative AI tools to customize instruction to student needs and create creative classroom lessons. It is designed to help you save time on developing activities and administrative tasks. His two-hour course for educators is available online at grow.google/GenAIforEducators.
Today's announcement builds on Google's efforts to help Americans access digital skills training in their local communities, including Google Career Certificates, which has more than 600,000 graduates worldwide.
