According to a study by Telenor Asia, 96% of internet users in Bangladesh regularly use artificial intelligence, up from 88% in 2024.

The findings were announced through a report titled “Telenor Asia Digital Lives Decoded 2025: Building Trust in Bangladesh's AI Future” released on Tuesday.

The fourth edition of this study explores how AI has emerged in Bangladesh, based on a survey of 1,000 Bangladeshi internet users, and highlights the importance of responsible, ethical and safe AI adoption.

“Mobile phones continue to transform daily life in Bangladesh, becoming a powerful enabler of smarter, more connected communities. As daily adoption of AI increases, carriers have a unique opportunity and responsibility to build secure digital infrastructure that supports trustworthy AI. Connectivity is the foundation and trust must be built at every layer. Telenor Asia is helping Bangladesh digitize and making everyone mobile in a safe and secure way. We remain committed to making the benefits of technology more accessible,” said Jon Omund Revhaug, Head of Telenor Asia.

Mobile technology is transforming daily life in Bangladesh, enabling smarter living through online learning (62%), remote working (54%) and financial management (50%).

Areas that have seen the biggest growth in mobile usage over the past year include remote work (more than 39 percent) and budgeting and expense tracking (more than 36 percent).

Nearly six in 10 people in Bangladesh now use some form of AI on a daily basis. Many people are now leveraging AI to help create content for school, work, and personal use, as well as for personalized advice on topics such as health, finances, and planning new experiences.

The increase in the use of AI is particularly evident in the workplace, daily activities, and online shopping, pointing to the deepening role of AI in daily work, the report said.
