NEET aspirant’s life ends after filming ‘I’m sorry’ video

An 18-year-old student from Hingoli in Maharashtra, who recently took the NEET-UG retest, allegedly took his own life after recording a video to his mother on his mobile phone, authorities said on Thursday (June 25, 2026).

An investigation is underway to find out whether Sushil Dharge’s extreme step had anything to do with the national-level medical entrance exam conducted by the National Testing Agency (NTA), as his family claims he found it difficult to retake the exam, they said.

Dage’s family told the police that the NEET re-examination papers were difficult. Officials said police have so far registered an accidental death report.

This was announced by an official from Hingori City Police Station. P.T.I.“The family’s complaint mentions a NEET re-examination. We are investigating the incident to find out if there is a connection between the exam and the incident.”

The NEET re-examination was held by the National Tax Agency on June 21 after the previous May 3 exam was canceled amid an ongoing investigation into the question paper leak. More than 2.2 million students were scheduled to retake the exam.
