Worsening builder shortage
In the United States alone, $2.2 trillion is spent annually on construction projects. Unfortunately, America lacks hundreds of thousands of construction workers each year just to meet demand, accelerating the labor and skills gap. In addition to an aging workforce, it is important to address this issue for four reasons:
- data center. The race for cutting-edge AGI requires faster data center construction.
- housing. High construction costs have led to housing affordability issues.
- grid. The power grid will need to be restructured to meet the demands from EVs, AI computing, and electrification.
- Reshoring. Manufacturing reshoring has led to an unplanned surge in labor demand.
On-site co-pilot
NavigateAI is building field-grade co-pilots for the labor market that power the way things are built, maintained, and delivered. Specifically, we are building an AI-native system that acts as an expert coach for all field workers, allowing them to improve speed, cost, and quality simultaneously. AI co-pilot allows you to:
- AI upskilling and coaching. We provide real-time guidance from co-pilots who serve as experts and craftsmen in each category.
- Scoping an AI project. We draw on our expertise and intelligence to create a complete scope of work, material list, and cost estimate.
- Quality control by AI. Enables real-time quality control against code, specifications, and original scope, finding defects at the point of production rather than during final inspection.
- AI knowledge on demand. Get answers in seconds from query codes, specifications, manufacturer manuals, and company-specific playbooks in the field.
product experience
NavigateAI runs in real-time on any camera-equipped mobile phone, giving field workers a second set of expert eyes. Our partnership with Meta enables a hands-free experience with Meta Glasses, allowing the co-pilot to see exactly what the worker is seeing. Field workers build and install while AI supports, directs, and validates the work.
Founder and CEO Eric Wu said: “At the precise moment when the country needs to build more and faster, there is a generational opportunity to leverage AI to improve the skills of millions of workers.” “We are building the AI co-pilot that will enable this workforce transition.”
