Navan, the global AI-powered travel and expense platform, announced a series of new AI-driven features at Navigate, its first user conference, aimed at significantly increasing productivity for both finance teams and travelers.

This announcement centers around four new features. Two AI-powered admin companions, one for travel and one for expense management, plus a conversational travel booking tool called Book with AI and a video-based expense submission feature. All four are currently in beta and will be rolled out to customers in the near future.

Travel Admin Companion allows businesses to ask straightforward questions via chat to uncover savings opportunities, identify cost drivers, and benchmark spending against peers. The tool aims to replace lengthy manual analysis and lays the foundation for Navan’s agent AI ecosystem. This could eventually allow administrators to perform program-wide actions such as blocking travel to specific destinations, adjusting policies, and running simulations directly from the chat interface.

Meanwhile, Expense Admin Companion is designed to help finance teams resolve flagged spend faster by analyzing anomalies, recommending next steps, and creating contextual messages to employees. Approximately 73% of expenses on the platform are already fully automated and approved without human intervention, but the new companion targets the remaining 27% that are flagged for missing details or suspicious activity.

Book with AI allows travelers to organize their travel through simple conversational prompts, drawing on Navan’s global flight inventory from over 600 airlines and 2.5 million hotels to surface personalized, policy-compliant options. This tool is built directly into Navan’s core infrastructure and enables complete booking and fulfillment within the chat experience.

Separately, video and audio expenses allow employees to record short videos of receipts while verbally explaining the situation. Navan’s AI then uses optical character recognition (OCR) and voice transcription to automatically fill in expense fields, eliminating the need for manual entry.

Michael Sindicich, president of Navan, said:

“This user enthusiasm has allowed us to create one of the best platforms for both travelers and businesses. By building the most advanced business travel infrastructure on the planet, we are now in a position to accelerate our lead with new features that have the potential to deliver tons of added value to our customers, while traditional players remain stuck with outdated infrastructure not built for the AI era.”
