Rafael Nadal warns about the fake online videos he offers financial advice and the risks of artificial intelligence.
The retired tennis great said Tuesday that he never supported the online video or its message.
“I want to share this message of caution – it's rare for my social media, but it's necessary,” he wrote LinkedIn. “I recently discovered fake videos circulating across several platforms, with my team. These are artificial intelligence-generated numbers that mimic my images and voice. In those videos, I misattribute my investment advice and suggestions.”
Nadal said it was “misleading ads, completely irrelevant” for him.
He spoke about the social challenges of learning to distinguish between real and manipulated.
“Innovation is always positive when serving people, but we have to recognize the risks and act with critical thinking,” he said. “Artificial intelligence is a tool with great potential that can bring extraordinary advancements in education, medicine, sports and communication. But it can also be misused, created misuse content that can create confusion and deceive many people.”
