MSIT begins recruitment for first CODYSSEY practical AI training cohort

The South Korean Ministry of Science, Information and Communication and Innovation Academy announced on the 3rd that they will begin recruiting the first batch of trainees for the practical AI expert training program CODYSSEY, an AI all-in-one course, starting on Tuesday.

CODYSSEY AI All-in-One courses run for up to 18 months, including an initial training period of one month. Participants will step through core AI technologies, including computer science fundamentals, programming, data analysis, machine learning, deep learning, computer vision, and natural language processing. The team will implement the “AI All-in-One Final Project” that integrates the entire curriculum.

Applications will be accepted until March 23rd. Anyone who is a Korean adult or has a high school diploma or higher can apply, regardless of their major or work history. After a one-month initial training period, the program will evaluate participation and competency to select the final 150 participants. Selected trainees will receive a scholarship of up to 1 million won, as well as growth support programs such as hackathons and employment consulting.

Nam Chul-ki, Director-General of Software Policy at the Ministry, said, “Developing practical AI human resources who can be immediately utilized in the industrial field is an important pillar of national competitiveness.” Furthermore, he stated, “We will continue to develop core AI human resources tailored to the industry across the metropolitan area and regional areas.”
