NoSQL database provider MongoDB announced a program to help enterprises accelerate the construction and deployment of AI-powered applications. The MongoDB AI Application Program (MAAP) promises everything your organization needs to get started, from strategic advisory and professional services to an end-to-end technology stack. Connect consulting firms and providers of foundational models, cloud infrastructure, generative AI frameworks, and model hosting with MongoDB Atlas to develop solutions to your business problems. And although announced today, MAAP will not be available until July.
Alan Chhabra, executive vice president of worldwide partners at MongoDB, said in a statement: “But some are still figuring out how best to integrate generative AI to solve the right business problems. That’s where the MongoDB AI Applications program comes in.”
MAAP addresses the issues many executives have with AI. It is believed that around a quarter of business leaders feel ready to use this technology. Greg Maxson, MongoDB Senior Director, said, “Many enterprises are struggling with a rapidly evolving technology environment, a lack of in-house AI development expertise, and a perceived risk of integrating all these fragmented vendor solutions. We share that even those just starting out face challenges.” We discussed AI market entry and strategic partnerships.
What's included in MAAP?
MAAP consists of four parts, starting with Atlas, a suite of database and data services packages that supports multiple clouds. Developers have access to preconfigured and optimized MongoDB products, features, and services. The service also includes a selection of partners who can help assess a company's existing technology stack and identify business problems to address. These consulting partners develop a strategic roadmap for companies to consider, ultimately detailing the required architecture and creating the required applications.

To help enterprises ensure their AI apps are secure and reliable, MongoDB's MAAP features a top-class foundational model. Developers can choose from framework models such as Anthropic, Cohere, Meta, Mistral, and OpenAI, as well as AI security from Anyscale, Fireworks.ai, Together AI, Credal.ai, LangChain, and LlamaIndex. Finally, MAAP leverages his MongoDB relationships with major cloud providers such as Amazon Web Services, Microsoft Azure, and Google Cloud.
In the last part, organizations can get expert help in prototyping their apps in a secure and private sandbox environment. AI app development in a box
MongoDB isn't the only company pushing AI app development platforms to enterprises. Organizations in this sector have a more calculated approach to technology use than consumers and want to know as much information as possible before making decisions. However, while companies like Cohere and Microsoft have released their own toolkits, we believe MongoDB has a competitive advantage.

He likens it to bookends, with GPUs and models on one side and apps on the other. “There’s no point in just buying bookends and investing without the book. That’s the data in the middle. That’s why when companies invest in AI and try to transform their business with AI, MongoDB is very important.”
Another valuable benefit for enterprises is MongoDB's third-party resources with MAAP. These providers can provide peace of mind for organizations that aren't sure if they're building useful apps that can generate real business results.
Although there were no specific metrics on the average time saved developing apps with MAAP, Maxson claims that some customers have seen build and deployment timelines for Gen AI apps reduced to approximately six weeks. MongoDB's MAAP will be available to customers starting in July. The company said it will adopt a pricing model similar to its current go-to-market model and support “models to go quickly alone or go further together.”
