Milestone Systems has opened a new Asia Experience Center in Singapore, expanding its regional footprint as organizations across the region increase spending on intelligent video and integrated security systems.
The facility is designed as a hub where customers and partners can design solutions and test video technology in real-world scenarios. Focus on data analytics, hybrid cloud architecture, and AI-powered deployment.
The opportunity comes as the Asia Pacific physical security market is expected to grow from USD 42.25 billion in 2025 to USD 59.54 billion by 2030, according to figures cited by Milestone. Additionally, organizations across sectors are migrating from traditional closed-circuit television systems to IP-based cloud-enabled platforms to better leverage analytics and device integration.
local demand
Urbanization and infrastructure development in major Asian cities is driving demand for intelligent video and integrated security tools. Operators of transportation hubs, airports, and public facilities are increasingly investing in systems that support real-time monitoring and incident response. Hospitality groups, retailers, and manufacturers are also adopting video management and analytics as part of broader operational technology programs.
The center will host scenario testing and multivendor integration, including high-density environments such as airports, urban transportation networks, and industrial sites. It said the milestones will be used to assess how AI-driven workflows perform under real-world constraints such as video quality, data continuity, and cybersecurity controls.
Video is increasingly being used as a data source for applications beyond security. Businesses are applying computer vision for operational monitoring, safety compliance, and process optimization. This has led to increased interest in systems that connect cameras, sensors, and other data feeds while meeting governance and compliance requirements.
AI workflow
Milestone is centered around deploying AI systems that can plan, reason, and execute tasks with less direct human input. In this regard, the company stated that reliable data is a requirement for deployment. The center will be used to test how video and sensor data work together in complex operational workflows.
Kiean Khoo, Head of Asia Business at Milestone Systems, said: “Asia is the world’s most dynamic security and smart infrastructure market, with enterprises expecting deeper operational intelligence and more adaptable system architectures.” “Our expanded Singapore hub will provide the region with the capabilities, collaboration space and expertise needed to address these new opportunities and scale innovation.”
Partners play a key role in how video management systems are delivered in Asia, where deployments often involve multiple camera vendors, analytics providers, system integrators, and cloud platforms. Interoperability is an important purchasing criterion, especially for large sites with a mix of old and new equipment.
Milestone’s approach is centered around an open platform model, combining video management software with integration into third-party devices and applications. Experience Center is used to model the integration environment and test how the various components work together.
“The expansion of our presence in Singapore reflects two clear realities: the scale and pace of demand across Asia, and the importance of expansion through open ecosystems and responsible innovation,” said Morten Illum. “The Experience Center plays a critical role in helping our partners and customers build AI-enabled solutions that are reliable, interoperable, and able to handle real-world complexities.”
product portfolio
Milestone sells XProtect video management software and BriefCam video analytics and offers Arcules, a cloud video surveillance service. The company is part of the Canon Group and is headquartered in Copenhagen.
The responsible use of AI has become a big part of supplier messaging in the security and surveillance space. Customers in regulated industries are facing increased scrutiny regarding biometric use, retention periods, and data access, while public sector buyers are weighing privacy expectations against security requirements.
Milestone said it is committed to responsible vision AI through Project Hafnia, which the company describes as a compliant video data library, and better AI anonymization technology.
“As the region accelerates into the AI era, our customers demand reliable, high-quality data to power autonomous decision-making,” said Khoo. “The new Experience Center is built to enable organizations to securely and responsibly validate their AI-driven workflows, allowing them to experiment, optimize, and innovate with confidence that their systems meet the highest standards of governance, transparency, and human oversight.”
The Singapore site expands the network of vendor-operated labs and demonstration facilities used for partner training, co-development and customer proof-of-concept projects. Milestone said the center will support cross-industry collaboration and solution design as regional buyers modernize their physical security infrastructure and expand the use of video data in their operations.
“Milestone Systems is deepening its role as a catalyst for innovation across the region’s evolving security and smart infrastructure landscape with the launch of the Asia Experience Center. By combining open platform video technology, responsible AI principles, and a strong partner ecosystem, the center will help accelerate Asia’s transition to a safer, smarter, and more data-driven environment,” said Iram.
