Microsoft hires Ali Farhadi to collaborate with Mustafa Suleiman on AI

Microsoft recently hired Ali Farhadi, former CEO of the Allen Institute for Artificial Intelligence.

Mr. Farhadi will work under him. mustafa suleimanHe recently started an internal AI team at the company, according to two people familiar with the hiring process. Farhadi is listed on Microsoft’s internal systems as corporate vice president, one of the people said.

After Business Insider reached out to Microsoft for comment, Suleiman posted about Farhadi’s hiring on LinkedIn.

Farhadi stepped down as CEO of Ai2 earlier this month to commit to making AI research open and available to the public. He was a co-founder of Xnor.ai, an on-device AI model startup. Apple acquired it for $200 million.
