AI Video & Visuals

Meta has introduced new generation AI video editing tools in Meta AI apps, websites and editing apps, allowing you to convert short videos with preset prompts. The feature, which was launched on Thursday, is currently available in the US and is selecting other regions. This represents the most notable step in the meta, integrating AI-driven video tools into the product suite, suggesting a more refined update in the pipeline.

For now, users can upload a 10-second video and try out more than 50 curated prompts for free, but the offer is time limit. AI-generated prompts allow you to change a variety of elements in your video, from clothing and background to the overall tone and style. Examples offered by Meta include turning rainy urban scenes into soft-focus dreams, and rethinking personal selfies as comic book illustrations and action-packed video game segments. Edited clips can be shared on Facebook, Instagram, or on the Discovery section of the Meta AI Platform.

According to Meta, the tool is designed for a wide range of audiences. Enhance family clips from everyday users, influencers and creators explore new visual formats. The company collaborated with content creators to develop prompts that resonate with online trends and community aesthetics. “The goal is to make high-quality videos intuitive and accessible to everyone,” Meta said in a statement. “We want people to empower them to tell stories and experiment creatively.”

This development is based on meta's continued investment in AI research. It follows previous efforts such as 2022's Make-a-Scene, such as multimodal content generation, llama-based spreading models, and 2022's Make-a-Scene, such as Movie Gen, a system that enables text-driven video generation and editing. The current development is primarily based on the film Gen Foundation, with Meta reviewing plans to introduce text-prompted editing later this year, providing users with more personalized control over AI output.

Meta has not revealed how long the free access period will last, but the company has shown that monetization models could be introduced once the tool achieves wider adoption. The announcement follows recent AI-related developments at Meta. This includes the creation of a new research lab that portrays the talents of Google Deepmind and Sesame.
