The latest feature of Meta AI is video editing. Create professional-grade videos with predefined templates with a variety of backgrounds, music and effects. Meta said the new AI-based video editing tool can be accessed for free for a limited time through the Meta AI app, the Meta.ai website and even the editing app.
Based on the film Gen AI model, the new AI video editing tool allows you to use text prompts to add and remove various elements from your video, including foreground, background, colors, music, filters, effects, and more. Although you cannot rethink the video using a text prompt, Meta says the feature will be available later this year.
For example, you can use the Meta AI text prompt to change what you're wearing in your video. To edit, upload the video to the Meta AI app, website, or editing app, then select from over 50 editing prompts to adjust the video. If you select the prompt, Meta AI will edit the video “to match the selected scenario.” However, the current version supports up to 10 seconds of video as part of free access. Meta doesn't say whether there is a cap on the number of videos per day or whether the price model will be used to extend the duration of the video.
AI-edited videos can be shared directly on Facebook and Instagram. You can also share videos directly with discovery feeds and videos on the Meta AI app and the Meta.ai web.
“We can build this feature and create fun and interesting videos for everyone to experiment creatively and share with friends, family and followers,” Mehta said, adding that he designed a tool that changes the way creators create content on the platform.
Meta AI's new video editing capabilities are now available in the US and “more than 12 countries around the world.”
