Chris Kempczinski, CEO and chairman of McDonald’s, recently had to do some of the work he probably fears most. It’s about eating food produced by his popular fast food chain. And it worked just as you expected.
In a video posted to Instagram on February 3, Kempczinski recorded himself eating the new Big Arch Burger for lunch in his office. The video didn’t go viral until people started sharing it on TikTok. And after watching this, I understand why so many people are fascinated by short clips of rich people eating hamburgers. But first, let’s start with the clip. Take it away, Chris K!
Where do I start? First, a note from someone who eats food: Maybe you shouldn’t call your new burger a “product.” It’s like a lawyer telling you off camera that you can’t legally call it food, so just call it a product. When content creator Chris K is done with the hype, he opens it and exclaims, “Holy cow!” After looking at the burger, he said to the camera with regret: “There’s so much going on in this.” I’m so excited to eat that, buddy.

McDonald’s CEO then received what I can only describe as the tiniest bite of a burger I’ve ever seen. It looks like a child whose mother forced him to eat vegetables he didn’t want to eat. As soon as he eats, you can tell he’s not happy, but he continues to fight bravely. He plans to ask for an even bigger bonus in the next round of negotiations, and plans to use the video as a reason to do so. He says this is his lunch. Dear reader, I doubt if the burger is done.
And I love McDonald’s. I’m not really into the chain’s burgers, but the rest of the menu is fine in a pinch. So please don’t take this blog as me saying McDonald’s is terrible. But it’s funny to see a super rich guy forced to eat food he would never eat otherwise, and then smile about it. Interesting thing. Thanks for the laughs on Friday, Chris K!
