Lucknow: A day after Indian Youth Congress (IYC) workers protested ‘toplessness’ at the Global AI Impact Summit in New Delhi, BSP national leader Mayawati and Samajwadi Party leader Akhilesh Yadav criticized the incident and termed it an insult to the country.The SP is an ally of the UP Congress and part of the Indian bloc. Yadav on Saturday said it was wrong for Congress workers to create a ruckus and he was not in favor of it.“We know that this government is lying and cheating, but we will fight tooth and nail inside. We all know that the Bharatiya Janata Party is lying, but there should be no such kind of protests that insult our country in front of foreign representatives and countries,” he added.Meanwhile, Mayawati said the protests were “highly obscene and reprehensible.” “It is said that it was the Congress youth who protested against ‘semi-naked’ at the summit,” she said, adding that the AI Impact Summit in New Delhi was attended by national and international celebrities and made international headlines.“It would have been different if it was not an international conference, but this kind of behavior during a summit meeting is a matter of concern. It would be appropriate if it does not damage the dignity and image of our country,” the BSP chief said.
