MARLBOROUGH – Longtime Marlborough resident Cheryl Lindsell Roberts recently
We celebrated the publication of his new book, titled “Business Writing with AI.”
Roberts is an accomplished, award-winning author with over 25 published books to her name. Her latest book explores the benefits of applying artificial intelligence techniques to a range of business writing applications.
In a world threatened by the power and influence of AI, Roberts is determined to make friends with the software.
Watching AI advances from afar, her curiosity took hold and she decided to try things herself. Roberts started playing around with an AI software called ChatGPT. The first prompt on ChatGPT was, “Say some witty lines about a cup of coffee.”
To his surprise, the AI software quickly responded with an entertaining and well-written response.
“That was my first foray into the world of AI. Soon after, I started dipping not just one foot in the water, but both. Two books later, I now see AI as a trusted writing companion,” Roberts says.
Roberts has combined his background in business and marketing with his newfound knowledge and awareness of AI to create a step-by-step guide for writers to work with AI, rather than against it. The book is divided into five parts: “Leveraging the Potential of AI in Business Writing,” “Writing Guide,” “Writing Click-Worthy Digital Content,” “Creating Professional Documents That Worth Attention,” and “Creating Personalized, Targeted Writing.”
Roberts sees AI as the next wave in all forms of writing. She sees it as a valuable tool, and hopes her new book will give readers some ideas on how to build a professional and platonic relationship with the software.
“I hope readers learn to respect what AI has to offer and not claim it as their own. This book will inspire them, encourage them to experiment with AI, and remind them that the writer's intelligence remains the most important part of any writing,” she said.
