Mark Zuckerberg says Meta is working on AI agents for personal and business use

Applications of AI

CEO Mark Zuckerberg said Meta’s superintelligence team is working on a new AI agent aimed at helping the company’s users “achieve a variety of life goals.” Zuckerberg is also reportedly overseeing his own AI clone, and said the goal is to make the agent more approachable and easier to use than existing agent products like OpenClaw.

Zuckerberg said on Meta’s first-quarter earnings call on Wednesday that future business and personal agents will be built on Meta Superintelligence Lab’s (MSL) first newly released Muse Spark model.

“Our goal is not only to provide Meta AI as an assistant, but also to provide an agent who understands your goals and can work day and night to help you achieve them,” he said. “We’re building a personal agency focused on helping people achieve their diverse goals in life. We’re also building a business agency focused on helping entrepreneurs and businesses around the world use our tools and more to scale their efforts, reach new customers, and better serve existing customers.”

Zuckerberg did not provide a timeline for the new product, but said Meta’s goal is to make agents more accessible than current platforms. He said OpenClaw “gives us a really exciting glimpse into what types of things should be possible,” but the setup is “pretty sketchy.”

“There are a lot of agents out there that people are building for different purposes, but there aren’t that many that I would want to give to my mother,” he said. “How do you make that experience even more sophisticated, dialed up and easy, and create a version where basically all the infrastructure is already done for people?”
