Meta founder and CEO Mark Zuckerberg has launched Meta Small Business, which aims to help small business owners leverage AI to build their businesses, Axios reported Wednesday.
“In the age of AI, it will be easier than ever for people to build new businesses. We want to build services that enable this, and this is important for people to broadly share the prosperity that superintelligence creates,” Zuckerberg said in an internal post cited in the report.
Zuckerberg said small businesses are a “huge part” of Meta’s business model. He said “millions” of entrepreneurs use Meta’s platform to connect with customers and grow their businesses.
“We’ve already built cutting-edge tools in this space, and we’re going to do even more,” Zuckerberg added.
Meta Platforms owns major social media and communication platforms such as WhatsApp, Instagram, and Facebook. According to the report, over 250 million small and medium-sized businesses worldwide use these platforms.

The Meta Small Business will be led by Meta’s senior executives, including Dina Powell McCormick, Meta’s president and vice chairwoman, and Naomi Greit, head of product.
Zuckerberg also asked other Meta employees, including product managers, designers and engineers, to contact him if they would like to work on Meta Small Business.
Some of the tools Zuckerberg mentions in his post include the Meta Business Suite, which lets you manage business activity across Facebook and Instagram, track performance metrics, publish content, and respond to messages across the platforms.
Meta also offers advertising services and Facebook and Instagram shops to sell your products. One of the most notable examples is the WhatsApp Business app, which facilitates communication between small businesses and their customers.
