Lucas Guadagnino was working on a film titled: artificial.
It’s almost complete and was inspired by Sam Altman, CEO of OpenAI.
However, Amazon MGM, which was funding the project, canceled the plan.
Interestingly, the streamer’s decision comes just days after the company signed a $50 billion deal with OpenAI.
A prominent Italian coach is now speaking out.
In an interview with italian tvGuadagnino did not criticize Amazon outright, but added that such decisions by companies are not unusual.
“I can’t say much because we are right in the middle of this situation,” he said, adding: “But these are by no means new industrial policies.”
“The problem is not artificial intelligence itself,” he continued. “It’s the people who control it.”
The filmmaker then gave an example of reagan – A miniseries that was canceled by CBS in 2003 due to political backlash.
Let’s go back to artificial things. The $40 million movie is up in the air.
CAA Media Finance, which represents Mr. Guadagnino, is seeking a buyer for Artificial.
However, major studios including Netflix, Focus Features, and A24 reportedly turned down the offer.
