With all the big social networks and internet platforms touting their new AI features, it’s no surprise that LinkedIn is moving in that direction, too.
Now, instead of clicking through different filters, you can search for jobs in a more conversational way — for example, you can say, “Find me a tech journalism job in New York that pays at least $1 million a year” — and you can have LinkedIn's AI review your resume and write you a cover letter or reference.
LinkedIn is also adding an AI career coach, mentored by prominent instructors. And the last big change is about search. This is kind of a vague pre-announcement, with LinkedIn saying they'll share more about the new search experience in the coming weeks. But again, the goal is to make search more conversational.
This isn't LinkedIn's first foray into AI — in fact, the company's head of product told TechCrunch that the company has been using AI since 2007 — but with parent company Microsoft being a major investor in OpenAI, the company likely now has access to more powerful tools.
