AI News

Lighthouse, a hospitality and travel-focused platform, has introduced new AI-driven features that automatically adjust pricing and distribution across independent hotel booking channels.

The new addition to the Lighthouse Commercial Platform, known as Smart Distribution, is intended to address the common challenge of independent hotels: manual distribution management. This takes time and often does not work.

In many cases, hotels can spend a significant amount of time with limited results or avoid aggressive distribution management, resulting in higher online travel agency (OTA) committees and loss of revenue.

Smart Distribution is designed to apply pricing changes across the channel without manual intervention. Publish public rates to all channels and use AI to analyze market conditions.

This feature allows rates to be continuously propagated across all channels and allows you to ensure that pricing matches across channels.

Lighthouse noted that prices are compared to competitor prices across the channel and are automatically adjusted to maintain market position.

Based on that analysis, we recommend “limiting length of stay, channel closures, and rate offsets” aimed at increasing profits.

If market data allows, steer the booking towards the low-cost channels with rate offsets for specific channels.

Lighthouse also said that minimum stay rules and channel closures are recommended by analyzing market conditions and analyzing occupancy or performance data to target profits per booking.

Vincent Gamer, senior vice president of the independent hotel, said:

“Time-consuming manual updates and expensive fits, replacing them with smart decisions with AI-powered, promoting more direct bookings, reducing managerial burdens, improving revenue performance, and building healthier, profitable channel mixes.”

Lighthouse currently supports over 85,000 hospitality properties in 185 countries.
