Lead Machine Learning Solutions Architect
Location: Hybrid (primarily based in London – onsite and ad hoc)

We are looking for an experienced Lead Machine Learning Solutions Architect who brings applied AI expertise and a track record of shipping AI-enabled user-facing applications at scale. As a Lead AI Solutions Architect, you'll be able to drive the vision and execution of various AI implementations, working closely with teams internally and across our clients. • Manage innovative AI teams in LLM, information retrieval, artificial intelligence, machine learning, and deep learning.
• Technical leadership of AI teams in the areas of LLM, NLP, information retrieval, and machine learning.
• Develop and deploy conversation and language understanding models at scale.
• Pushing the boundaries of AI platforms through innovation and partnerships.
• Follow and promote responsible AI and privacy-protecting machine learning best practices.
• Support the recruitment, coaching, mentoring, and career development of AI engineers and solution architects to build teams focused on comprehensive and ambitious AI solutions.
• Work closely with internal and customer AI platform teams to create next-generation AI innovations for our clients' AI-enabled products and services.
• Support and develop a vibrant AI engineering culture that encourages experimentation, scientific processes, and innovation.
• Communicate internally and externally about AI research advances, breakthroughs, and product innovations through publications, presentations, and other media (e.g., blogs, press interviews, etc.).

qualification
Required qualifications
• Ph.D. in computer science, mathematics, physics, statistics, or related field. Candidates with a master's degree and industry experience or publications in the fields of LLM, information retrieval, machine learning, and NLP will also be considered.
• 5+ years managing a research or engineering team in machine learning, NLP, information retrieval, or related field.
• Professional experience developing AI models for large-scale production services. We have a track record of successfully translating applied research into production.
• Strong problem solving and data analysis skills. Particularly expertise in developing or applying large-scale predictive analytics, statistical modeling, data mining, or machine learning algorithms.
• Strong people leadership skills that understand team dynamics, have the ability to retain, attract, and develop team members, and influence others.
• Advocates for diversity and inclusion based on a growth mindset.
• Customers are excited and passionate about the impact of AI products.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to simplify and explain complex ideas.
Desired qualifications
• Publication record (peer-reviewed academic papers, patents, ML libraries).
• Experience speaking as an invited speaker at research/industry community conferences and other events.
• Experience conducting research as part of a research program (in an academic or industry setting).
• Experience developing and deploying large-scale products or systems at multiple points in the product cycle, from ideation to shipment.
