The Department of Energy's Los Alamos National Laboratory has unveiled its latest supercomputer called Venado, powered by Nvidia's GH200 Grace Hopper superchip designed to handle high-performance computing and large-scale artificial intelligence applications.

LANL announced Tuesday that the Venado is equipped with a Hewlett Packard Enterprise Cray EX supercomputer and can accommodate the computing power of 2,560 direct liquid-cooled Grace Hopper superchips.

This supercomputer uses 920 NVIDIA Grace CPU superchips, each with 144 Arm cores, to boost high-performance computing performance.

“With its ability to incorporate artificial intelligence approaches, we look forward to seeing how Los Alamos' Venado system can bring new and meaningful results to areas of interest,” said DOE Deputy Secretary David Turk. said.

“Venado adds to the state-of-the-art supercomputing that advances national security and basic research, accelerating how we integrate artificial intelligence to address these challenges,” said LANL Director Tom Mason. I am.

The supercomputer is located at LANL's Nicholas C. Metropolis Modeling and Simulation Center.
