T'Puram: Keraline Rastructure and Technology (KITE), the technology division of the general education sector of Kerala government, has launched an online artificial intelligence (AI) training programme for teachers in nine islands in the Lakshadeep Archipe Islands. The training module is an updated version of the AI program previously implemented by Kite for 80,000 teachers in Kerala. It uses the same online training platform that was made public under the name “AI Essentials.” The first phase of this training will include all 110 graduate teachers divided into five batches. The program is completed in one month and one mentor is assigned to 20 teachers. The course content is made up of five different sections. The first section, “AI at your fingertips,” introduces practical applications of AI, covering history, development and future possibilities. The second section, “AI Art Gallery,” focuses on using AI to create and enhance images, design logos and posters, and building 3D models. The third section, “Mastering AI,” provides hands-on training in the use of AI for rapid engineering and reading and data analysis. The fourth section, “AI in Everyday Life,” provides practical training on how to use AI in areas such as music, coding, video production, and learning. The final section concludes the training by understanding how to use AI responsibly and accustoming participants to the technical terms they use in the field. Kite CEO K Anvar Sadath said the organization will provide training to all Lakshadweep teachers, including in the field of robotics. Robotics has been incorporated into the revised Class X ICT textbook as the island is used to follow the Kerala curriculum. To facilitate this, Kite will also provide a robotic kit to Lakshadweep's school.
