DW Akademie from Moldova is looking for trainers for a series of interactive workshops focused on AI applications in journalism.
Rapid advances in generative artificial intelligence (AI) present both opportunities and challenges for global information ecosystems. Newsrooms face growing digital disparities, allowing some people to invest in new technology, while others are lagging behind. Dissemination of disinformation, ethical concerns about automation, and potential algorithm biases lead to a decline in public confidence in journalism.
To address these challenges, Moldova's DW Akademie supports its partner, Moldova School of Journalism, when developing a series of interactive workshops focusing on journalism's AI applications. These workshops will be part of two important events.
- “Podcast Fest” – A one-day networking event for the Moldova podcasting community
- “Shape the Future of Journalism: For Your Profit by Using AI Tools” – A 3-day event aimed at equipping media experts with practical AI skills.
The comprehensive objective of the project (2023-2025) is to enhance Moldovan media and journalism education by developing a school of Moldovan journalism to become a centre for innovation in quality journalism, thereby enhancing the quality of reporting by independent media experts.
This is achieved through the qualifications of local trainers, the development of curricula tailored to specific needs, and the provision of quality journalism education programs that address the most pressing issues facing the media community.
