Jose Mourinho has moved to quash speculation about a possible return to Real Madrid after a controversial video featuring the Portuguese manager went viral ahead of the club’s presidential election. Idman Biz I will report.

According to a report in Portugal’s Record, Mourinho contacted Benfica officials to clarify the situation after the video was leaked on social media. The clip, presented by Real Madrid’s presidential candidate Florentino Pérez as part of his Florentino 2026 election campaign, shows Mourinho wearing a Real Madrid shirt and being introduced as the club’s next manager if Pérez is re-elected on June 7.

However, Mourinho reportedly told Benfica that the footage was generated using artificial intelligence and does not reflect any agreement or plans regarding his future. The veteran manager is currently under contract with the Lisbon giants but has sought to distance himself from the mounting speculation.

Mourinho previously enjoyed success with Real Madrid from 2010 to 2013, winning the La Liga title, the Copa del Rey and the Spanish Super Cup. His name has been frequently linked with a return to the Santiago Bernabéu, but there has been no official instruction from either Real Madrid or Benfica regarding such a move.
