The second, segregated category, he continues, is jobs that require sophisticated interpersonal relationships. He refers to a nurse, his business consultant, and an investigative journalist. According to Ford, the third safe zone is “any job that really requires a lot of mobility, dexterity, and problem-solving in an unpredictable environment.” Electricians, plumbers, welders, and many other trade jobs fall under this umbrella. “These are the kinds of jobs where you have to deal with new situations all the time,” he adds. “Probably the hardest thing to automate. Humans will probably stay in jobs that fall into these categories, but that doesn’t mean those jobs are completely insulated from the rise of AI. says that regardless of industry, most jobs have aspects that are likely to be automated by technology.
