Joacim Damgard will assume his new role as president of Microsoft in Western Europe, with a focus on helping people, businesses and governments in 10 countries achieve more with technology. announced today.

Damgard will assume a new leadership position from his current role as President of Microsoft in Central and Eastern Europe. He joined Microsoft six years ago as his country manager in Sweden after a successful career in the IT and telecommunications industries.

Damgard succeeds Cindy Rose in her new role as Chief Operating Officer of Global Enterprise Sales at Microsoft. Damgard will report to Microsoft EMEA President Ralph Haupter.

According to a recent IDC study, European customers continue to pursue, if not accelerate, their move towards digital transformation and cloud migration. The increase in public cloud usage is projected to be around 22%. Customers are turning to the cloud to meet their sustainability goals, empower their workforce, and innovate with AI and security.
