- Jensen Huang disagrees with Dario Amodei's warning that AI can wipe out half of all entry-level white-collar jobs.
- “He thinks AI is very scary, but they should only do that,” Huang said of the CEO of humanity.
- Nvidia's Huang says AI will replace some jobs, but will replace other jobs that will change other jobs, including himself.
Nvidia CEO Jensen Huang has not purchased the AI Jobs Apocalypse story. Not particularly from Anthropic CEO Dario Amodei.
Speaking to reporters on the sidelines at Vivatec 2025 in Paris, fans dismissed Amodei's claim that AI could quickly wipe out half of its entry-level white-collar work.
“I barely agree with anything he says,” the fans said. “He thinks AI is very scary, but only they should do it.”
Last month, Amodei told Axios that AI could surge unemployment rates of up to 20% over the next five years, impeding the role of legal, financial, technology and consulting.
He urged the government to stop “sugar painting” the threat.
However, Huang aimed at Amodei's predictions and offered a more optimistic view.
“If you want to do things safely and responsibly, you should do it openly,” Huang said, comparing the development of AI to medical research. “I don't think AI is that expensive. Do you think AI will change jobs? It will change everyone – it has changed mine.”
Huang acknowledged that some roles will disappear, but said AI could also unleash creative opportunities.
He is not the only CEO who has blamed Amodei for his outlook.
Cognizant CEO Ravi Kumar told Business Insider that AI creates more opportunities for fresh alumni by reducing the need for deep expertise and enabling the potential for faster upskills.
Humanity did not immediately respond to business insider requests for comment.
