Jack White has slammed Tennessee state Rep. Tim Burchett after the former White Stripes frontman allegedly shared a video in which he allegedly told President Trump's supporters they couldn't listen to his music.
The AI-generated video, originally posted on X, features an animated White telling viewers, “Don't even think to listen to my music, you fascists.”
The video appears to have been generated from a photo of White taken by photographer Amy Sussman at this year's Rock and Roll Hall of Fame induction ceremony, but the word, which bears no resemblance to White, actually comes from an Instagram post he wrote when he warned the Trump campaign not to use White Stripes songs in 2024. Seven Kingdoms Army Participate in campaigns without permission.
Burchett shared the post, telling her followers: “That cute girl from the Addams Family was so ugly and angry.” When a commenter pointed out that the video was clearly fake, Burchit responded: “You mean she's not the girl from the Addams Family?”
Meanwhile, Jack White responded to Burchett's post with his usual firmness on Instagram.
Mr. White wrote: “The American congressman, yes, Member of Parliament What was once a sacred and respected position in our society (from my state) would repost an AI-generated video containing false comments that I never said (without any research I might add) and then add to it an attempted insult to my appearance like a 10-year-old on the playground?
“What kind of joke are we living in right now? All of Trump's henchmen and villains like this elected official are cowards who would never speak to someone like me or you like this directly. Trump is a scourge on this government. He really lowered the standards when he brought it up. Neither he nor his sycophantic councilors nor the women show any decency or dignity, they all just repeat cheap, childish elementary school bullying talking points and fake Christian (!) rhetoric.
“It's really sad how embarrassing our nation's leaders have become. I wish the average American conservative could just take a moment to have a conversation with intelligent people from other countries around the world and really understand what a joke our government (and by proxy, our country) has become. It all comes down to giving power and a soapbox to lower-class playground bullies like Trump and Congressman Burchett.”
“The great state of Tennessee deserves better, Mr. Burchett, but you and your cult are too dug in and too blind to even realize it. It's shameful that you carry a Bible in one hand and a flag in the other and trample on our democracy every day for the sake of one man's ego, using your tax dollars to tear down the White House brick by brick in order to receive a false peace prize.
“I've said it before and I'll say it again: There will come a time in the future when none of these right-wingers will admit to having been a part of this cult since this era. All the MAGA hats will be thrown in the landfill and leaders with actual intelligence and honor will take their place. Let's remember the highly educated and well-spoken leaders in American history like JFK, FDR, and MLK, because as we look around us now, we wonder if half of these so-called representatives have actually read the Constitution they were sworn to. ”
This is just the latest of White's disagreements with current Republican leadership. Earlier this month, he described Donald Trump as a “nasty, mean, self-centered loser” following the president's comments after the murder of Hollywood icon Rob Reiner. And in August, he described President Trump as an “orange scammer,” “a con artist,” “a vile fascist,” “a casino bankrupt,” and “a professional golf scammer.”
