CTC announced on July 3 that ITOCHU Techno-Solutions Corporation (CTC), ITOCHU Corporation, and Mamezo have entered into a business partnership agreement to strengthen collaboration in the field of physical AI.
The three companies aim to combine their respective technologies and customer bases, promote social implementation of physical AI, and develop new business opportunities. This release defines physical AI as the field that combines AI-based perception and decision-making with robots that perform tasks.
This partnership will focus on sales cooperation, human resource development, and strengthening physical AI-related businesses. Areas of collaboration are planned to include accumulating know-how through joint research and demonstration experiments, designing and building end-to-end systems, supporting the development of AI human resources, and considering new businesses that utilize physical AI.
Through this partnership, CTC will be in charge of demonstration work and collaboration studies of technologies that link cloud, AI, and robotics technologies, including software that controls robots and equipment. ITOCHU Corporation will be responsible for creating business opportunities by leveraging its wide customer base and network. Mamezou will provide development capabilities in robotics, AI, and embedded technology based on software engineering.
The two companies envisioned the partnership to combat labor shortages and productivity pressures in industries such as manufacturing, logistics, infrastructure maintenance and mobility. In response to this, investments in automation and advanced systems are increasing, while companies are looking for systems that can integrate design, implementation, and operation.
CTC is already working with Mamezou on AI-driven development and training of advanced IT talent. Through this new three-way partnership, CTC plans to leverage the knowledge and technology gained through the partnership to advance physical AI initiatives in stages with ITOCHU Corporation and Mamezo.
