Aim Security, an Israeli generative artificial intelligence security startup for the enterprise, today announced it has raised $18 million in new funding to strengthen its AI security platform with the goal of providing comprehensive protection for enterprises adopting generative AI.
The company was founded in 2022 by CEO Matan Getz (pictured right) and Chief Technology Officer Adir Gurus (pictured left), both cybersecurity veterans who served in the Israel Defense Forces' elite intelligence unit 8200. The company aims to be a trusted partner for enterprises to ensure the adoption of generative AI. The company's services provide guardrails for any use case, giving leaders the ability to improve business productivity while ensuring protection.
The generative AI tools that have emerged over the past two years should require little introduction, but Aim argues that with the rapid emergence of chatbots, virtual assistants, and AI productivity tools like GitHub Copilot, security leaders are caught in a never-ending cycle of “playing catch-up” to address the unique data, privacy, and security challenges that AI technology brings. As a result, they often block the use of AI altogether, undermining business and efficiency goals, or putting organizations at risk by deploying such tools without the proper security safeguards.
Aim's security platform manages and secures the use of AI in all its forms across business environments. The platform is specifically tailored to the unique threats posed by AI, including sensitive data leakage, supply chain vulnerabilities, harmful or manipulated output, and the emergence of attack methods such as jailbreaking and prompt injection.
“Enterprise customers across industries have repeatedly asked us: 'How can we leverage the clear benefits of cutting-edge AI technologies, like increased efficiency and optimized decision-making, without exceeding an acceptable risk threshold?'” said Goetz. “At Aim, our mission is clear: to be a trusted AI security ally for enterprise security leaders, enabling organizations to confidently unleash the potential of these technologies within their environments, knowing that Aim is the protective layer.”
The ultimate goal of Aim's platform is to enable businesses to capitalize on the opportunities that AI offers for growth and efficiency while ensuring security confidence. The platform addresses all aspects of AI usage in the modern business environment with a holistic approach, empowering Chief Information Security Officers to become “business enablers” by encouraging employees to use chatbots, protecting the enterprise's Copilot deployments, and helping developers securely build custom-generated AI applications.
Cannan Partners led the Series A round, with participation from YL Ventures Ltd. Aim's other investors include the founders of Wiz Inc. and industry leaders such as Palo Alto Networks Inc., Proofpoint Inc. and Google LLC.
