Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guards Corps (IRGC) has issued a clear public warning to the United States that any damage to Iran’s power infrastructure will result in firm retaliation. Specifically, Revolutionary Guards spokesman Brigadier General Ebrahim Zolfagali threatened the “complete and complete destruction” of U.S. and Israeli facilities. Later in the video, the “hidden” $30 billion Stargate AI data center in Abu Dhabi was featured as an attractive target for destruction by Iran. The threat comes after the country reportedly damaged some Amazon AWS data centers enough to shut them down.

Above, you can see and hear Zolfagali make headline threats against US actions in Iran. “If the United States continues to make threats regarding Iranian power plant facilities, the following retaliatory measures shall be immediately instituted,” the military spokesperson declared. “All of the Zionist regime’s power plants, energy infrastructure, information and communications technology, and similar enterprises in the region with U.S. shareholders will face complete and total annihilation.”
After Zolfaghari’s remarks, the video cuts to a shot of the Earth from space and a zoomed-in view of Abu Dhabi on Google Maps. Next, a zone not far from the coast will be centered, showing an apparently “empty” desert area. But this dark landscape is overlaid with a message: “What Google hides doesn’t hide anything from us.” The video then switches to a “night vision” view of the same area of the map, giving a clear view of the full extent of the Stargate AI data center in Abu Dhabi.

Possible escalation or bluff?
If possible, some may wonder why Iran did not attack targets like the Stargate AI data center during last month’s hostilities. The damage has already been severe enough to disrupt some Amazon operations. AWS data center. Most likely, these were just “lucky” shots that managed to break through the defenses deployed in the Gulf states. Additionally, Iran has made similar threats in recent weeks against Nvidia, Microsoft, Apple, Google, and 14 other U.S. tech companies.
With neither side showing any signs of calming their rhetoric or restraining their use of force at this point, we may actually see whether Iran is able to launch a devastating attack on U.S. business data centers. Of course lives will be at risk, and people are working in these facilities, so the $30 billion poured into megaprojects in the Middle East isn’t the whole story.
