Adobe is expanding its suite of creative tools to mobile with the release of Premiere for iPhones, scheduled to be released on September 30, 2025.
“Editing the perfect video should be out of reach for everyone. It should feel as easy and move as you do,” Adobe said in the announcement.
The iPhone version offers several of the premier features, from desktop to mobile, including multitrack timelines, accurate trimming, layering, and 4K HDR support. Users can also access auto captions with stylized subtitles, unlimited video, audio, text layers, and presets and fonts for customization. Adobe emphasized that mobile apps allow creators to create sophisticated videos without watermarking or unnecessary clutter.
The iPhone Premier also comes with tools powered by Adobe's latest technology, such as “Enhing Speech,” which reduces background noise from clips recorded in noisy environments. Additionally, creators will gain access to Adobe Stock's music library, sound effects, graphics and images to enhance their projects.
The app is free to download and use, but certain elements, including cloud storage and additional features, require payment. According to Adobe, the mobile version is designed to meet the needs of a wide range of users, from social media creators to professionals who produce client work.
“Whether you're creating for social channels, creating content for clients, or capturing everyday moments, the same tools that millions of creators rely on will emerge in new mobile apps built for creativity on the go,” the company says.
The move reflects Adobe's focus on mobile platforms as demand for short video content rises across social networks such as Tiktok, Instagram and YouTube shorts. Earlier this year, Meta introduced its own editing app, Edit, but startups like captions have been extended with the Freemium model.
The iPhone Premier follows Adobe's recent push to bring flagship software to mobile. In recent months, the company has launched Photoshop for iOS, deployed a beta version of Android, and released a dedicated app for Firefly generation tools on both iOS and Android. The premier Android release is currently under development, but no release date has been announced.
