SIOUX CITY (KTIV) – On Wednesday, March 11, a group of business owners learned an overview of artificial intelligence and focused on how they can use the technology to improve their operations.
This session is made possible through a partnership between the Home Builders Association and Iowa State University’s Center for Industrial Research and Services, known as CIRAS.
CIRAS works with companies to help them improve in a variety of areas. Growth project manager Paul Gormley said the organization is encouraging executives to embrace AI rather than avoid it.
“We need to take responsibility for artificial intelligence,” Gormley said. “We need to be unafraid and armed with artificial intelligence to understand that it can be a tool to increase productivity and innovation.”
CIRAS has partnered with the University of Iowa and Iowa State University to develop an AI training curriculum that will be offered through community colleges across the state.
“CIRAS is a collaboration between the University of Iowa and Iowa State University that will develop a curriculum for basic AI training and deliver it through community colleges across the state,” Gormley said. “Western Iowa Tech will host its first program called AI Literacy on April 14th and AI Fluency on May 14th.”
