Selected teams will work on one or both of two problem statements focused on the impact of technology on retail investors.
– How to support individual investors Identify and avoid fraud and scams with AI
– How can we leverage technology? Educating and empowering retail investors to use AI Use it as a financial learning tool while understanding AI-related risks across different regulatory and cultural contexts.
A key element of both problem statements is accessibility and potential for adjustment across multiple regulatory and cultural contexts.
The team will work virtually over the coming months, with regular check-ins and guidance from IOSCO and its members, and will present the project at an in-person Demo Day event in Madrid on October 8, 2026, to coincide with the 10th anniversary of World Investor Week.
The ideal candidate will come from all corners of the ecosystem, building a diverse team with complementary skills.

“New technologies such as AI offer great opportunities to expand financial inclusion, increase investor understanding, and improve the quality of services to investors. They also bring new vulnerabilities, such as sophisticated lightning-fast fraud, deepfakes and misinformation, that can undermine trust and harm consumers. These challenges require collective action and forward-looking solutions. IOSCO TechSprint represents exactly this spirit of international cooperation and demonstrates IOSCO’s commitment to guiding technological advances in a way that protects, protects, and educates investors and supports healthy and well-functioning global markets. ”
