The UKTN podcast is back for its seventh season and our first guest is Jason Bradbury, best known as the host of “The Gadget Show”.
In this episode, Bradbury talks about how companies are “gaining their footing” when it comes to AI, why he's excited about the metaverse, and some of the wackiest product tests he's run so far.
“I'm not as worried about the people further up the chain as some people are, but I understand that if I were a factory worker I might have more to worry about. Or if I was a lawyer, I don't want to be a lawyer right now,” he says. Bradbury.
Bradbury presented Channel 5's The Gadget Show from its debut in 2004 until 2016, testing out technology and performing stunts such as a jet-powered skateboard.
In early 2024, “The Gadget Show” returned in podcast format, hosted by Bradbury and Suzi Perry.
He's also a frequent speaker at business conferences, speaking and publishing on the transformative impact of technologies such as AI. Elsewhere in the podcast, Bradbury talks about a film project in Skegness about gamers using retro tech to fight back against AI, and explains why he's bullish on the metaverse, despite some setbacks in the market.
“Facebook changed the name to Meta and went all in prematurely, taking away the luster of the inevitable evolution towards shared virtual experiences within mixed reality environments,” Bradbury said.
