KT is leading innovation in media and content by introducing a specialized media solution called “Magic Platform” that utilizes artificial intelligence (AI) to create and edit videos.


On the same day, KT, together with its affiliates Sky TV and KT Studio Genie, hosted the “KT Group Media Day'' event, where they shared the results of their media and content business and outlined their future business strategies.


During the event, KT debuted the Magic Platform, a comprehensive media solution for business-to-business (B2B) that enables AI-powered video analysis and content generation. With this solution, KT uses AI to extract important keywords from e-books in Millie's Library, synthesizes dubbing audio in KT AI Voice Studio, and creates his background music created by Genie Music's generative AI. KT also plans to introduce an AI pick function that will allow viewers to select specific characters, songs, and dance scenes through “Magic Mike'' in the second half of this year. KT plans to make the platform available to other companies in the form of a website and also provide customized services.


Furthermore, KT plans to build an “integrated media viewership'' system that can accurately analyze viewership ratings of various channels such as IPTV, satellite, and cable every 10 seconds. Additionally, KT announced plans to launch an AI set-top box in the second half of this year.


KT is also focusing on content production. This year, Sky TV will be in charge of producing variety shows, while Studio Genie will be in charge of producing dramas. Studio Genie aims to release 14 original dramas this year and is also targeting the international market with its unique intellectual property.


Prior to this, KT announced plans to increase media and content revenue to 5 trillion won by next year. KT's media subscriber count currently stands at 13 million households, and last year's content revenue reached 640 billion won, an increase of 26% from the previous year.
