India is at the center of AI innovation this week as it hosts the AI ​​Impact Summit, which brings together world heads of state and industry to chart the future of AI.

At this summit in New Delhi, industry leaders, government agencies, educational institutions, and startups will share how they are working with NVIDIA to power the AI ​​industrial revolution in the world’s most populous country.

These efforts support IndiaAI Mission, the government’s initiative to inject more than $1 billion into India’s AI ecosystem to strengthen the country’s computing capacity and accelerate the development of sovereign AI datasets, frontier models, and applications. This mission also supports AI education, startup innovation, and a trustworthy AI framework.

NVIDIA cloud partners power India’s AI infrastructure

To achieve its AI ambitions, India is investing heavily in computing infrastructure. Under the IndiaAI Compute Pillar, the country is building AI cloud services with systems containing tens of thousands of NVIDIA GPUs.

NVIDIA is collaborating with next-generation cloud providers Yotta, L&T, and E2E Networks to deliver an advanced AI factory to meet India’s growing AI computing needs and enable the development of AI models and services that drive innovation.

  • Yotta is a hyperscale data center and cloud provider building large-scale sovereign AI infrastructure for India, powered by over 20,000 NVIDIA Blackwell Ultra GPUs and branded as Shakti Cloud. The company’s campuses in Navi Mumbai and Greater Noida offer GPU-dense, high-bandwidth AI cloud services in a pay-as-you-go model designed to make advanced AI training and inference affordable and compliant for enterprise and public sector customers in India.
  • E2E Networks is building NVIDIA Blackwell GPU clusters on the TIR platform hosted at L&T Vyoma data center in Chennai. The TIR cloud computing platform features the NVIDIA HGX B200 system and NVIDIA Enterprise software, as well as the NVIDIA Nemotron open model, to power sovereign development across agent AI, healthcare, finance, manufacturing, and agriculture.

India’s AI cloud infrastructure not only hosts workloads but also manufactures intelligence for model training, fine-tuning, and inference at scale. Capacity within these data centers will be reserved for model builders, startups, researchers, and enterprises to build, fine-tune, and deploy AI in India.

Further expanding access to NVIDIA AI infrastructure in India, Netweb Technologies launches Tyrone Camarero AI supercomputing system built on NVIDIA Grace Blackwell architecture. The NVIDIA GB200 NVL4 platform is manufactured in India by Netweb under the Government of India’s ‘Make in India’ mission and is powered by four NVIDIA Blackwell GPUs and two NVIDIA Grace CPUs to power scientific computing, model training, and inference.

NVIDIA and Indian AI native company build frontier AI model for country

Another key goal of the IndiaAI mission, led by the Innovation Center pillar, is to develop and deploy foundational models trained on India-specific data and domestic AI infrastructure.

For a multilingual nation like India, with 22 languages ​​recognized in the constitution and over 1,500 more recorded in the census, Frontier AI models are a powerful tool to help more than 1.4 billion people access technology in their first language.

Organizations across the country use NVIDIA Nemotron to build AI applications to support public sector services, financial systems, and business operations in multiple languages.

NVIDIA Nemotron’s open models, datasets, tools, and libraries enable organizations to go beyond language and build cutting-edge speech, language, and multimodal models at scale and for government, consumer, and enterprise applications. This includes India-specific datasets such as Nemotron-personas-India, an open dataset built from publicly available census data using NeMo Data Designer, containing 21 million fully synthetic Indian personas that enable population-scale sovereign AI development.

Adopters of Nemotron and NeMo Curator, an open library for multilingual and multimodal data curation, in India include:

  • balatogena sovereign AI initiative supported by the Indian government, aimed at strengthening the country’s multilingual and multimodal AI ecosystem. As part of this effort, BharatGen developed a 17 billion parameter mixture of experts (MoE) model from scratch using the NVIDIA NeMo framework for pre-training and the NeMo RL library for post-training. The open source model is designed to power applications across public services, agriculture, security, and cultural preservation.
  • tankis a company building AI systems for voice and multimodal communications. Using the NeMo framework, Chariot has developed an 8 billion parameter model for real-time text-to-speech to support applications that improve accessibility and digital interactions across consumer and enterprise use cases.
  • commotionbacked by Tata Communications, which has developed an AI operating system that automates complex enterprise workflows. By integrating NVIDIA Nemotron models and voice capabilities, the platform enables managed, operational-grade AI deployments, helping enterprises scale AI across critical business operations.
  • CoRover.aiintroduced the NVIDIA Nemotron Speech open model and NVIDIA Riva library for end-to-end ultra-low-latency speech AI, including the NVIDIA Riva Whisper v3 model for multilingual automatic speech recognition in English, Hindi, and Gujarati. Powering Indian Railway Catering and Tourism Corporation’s customer service applications, CoRover’s platform supports around 10,000 concurrent users and over 5,000 ticket bookings per day.
  • Gnani Eyeprovides businesses with a multilingual agent AI platform that can interact with customers through voice and text. Gnani builds a 14 billion parameter speech synthesis model based on the NVIDIA Nemotron Speech model, dataset, and NeMo library, including the NeMo library via the NVIDIA cloud partner E2E network. There are plans to expand to a 32 billion parameter model. By fine-tuning the NVIDIA Nemotron Speech model for Indian languages, Gnani was able to reduce inference costs by 15x and scale to support more than 10 million calls per day for telecom, banking, and hospitality customers.
  • National Payments Corporation of India (NPCI)operates India’s retail payments system and deploys AI models to support digital financial services. Building on the production deployment of India’s Unified Payments Interface (UPI) pilot initiative, the AI-powered UPI Help Assistant, NPCI is looking to train India’s financial model, FiMi, using the NVIDIA Nemotron 3 Nano model and proprietary datasets. Fine-tuned with the NeMo framework, this model supports multilingual customer service across the Indian banking ecosystem.
  • Sarvam.aiis the leader in full-stack sovereign-generated AI, offering enterprise-grade multimodal, speech-to-text, text-to-speech, translation, and inference models. The company has open sourced the Sarvam-3 series, a variation of text and multimodal large-scale language models trained for 22 Indian languages, English math, and code. Sarvam uses NeMo Curator to build high-quality multilingual training data while employing a subset of the NVIDIA Nemotron dataset. The underlying model was pre-trained from scratch using the NVIDIA NeMo framework and Megatron-LM across parameter sizes of 3B, 30B, and 100B, and post-trained with NeMo RL. Training was conducted on NVIDIA H100 GPUs through NVIDIA cloud partners, including Yotta. With these sovereign models, Sarvam.ai’s new Pravah platform enables production-grade inference for Indian government and enterprise applications.

These open-source components enable scalable experimentation, training stability, and efficient GPU usage while maintaining full control over your model’s data, design, and lifecycle.
  • tech mahindradeveloped an 8 billion parameter base model tailored to Indian languages ​​and dialects. Built with Nemotron, this model is designed for classroom use and can make learning materials available in a wide range of Indian languages, including Hindi, Maithili, and Dogri. The team used the Nemotron library and tools such as NeMo Data Designer to generate synthetic data, and NeMo AutoModel to perform supervised fine-tuning.
  • zohois evolving its Zia LLM platform with a unique model built using NVIDIA NeMo on the NVIDIA Blackwell and Hopper platforms and integrated across Software-as-a-Service applications. This privacy-first architecture delivers contextual, production-grade AI for critical business workflows like customer relationship management and finance, ensuring technology sovereignty and enterprise security on a global scale.

Developers building sovereign AI systems can now access NVIDIA Nemotron and NeMo. Nemotron models can be deployed anywhere on your NVIDIA-accelerated infrastructure. This also includes NVIDIA DGX Spark. NVIDIA DGX Spark is available in India through authorized partners such as PNY, RP tech India, Tech Data, and TD SYNNEX Company, as well as on the NVIDIA Marketplace. The version made in India as part of the ‘Make in India’ initiative is available on Netweb.

DGX Spark also runs sovereign AI models from Indian model builders such as Sarvam.ai.

Government and academic partnerships to support research in AI for science and engineering

IndiaAI Mission supports high-impact AI applications based on the Application Development Initiative pillars. Additionally, its startup financing pillar aims to democratize access to capital for AI entrepreneurs across the country.

NVIDIA works with government agencies, research institutions, venture capital firms, and startups to advance projects that align with these goals.

NVIDIA is collaborating with the Anusandhan National Research Foundation (ANRF), a statutory body under the Government of India, to further advance cutting-edge AI research across the country’s leading academic institutions. This effort supports ANRF’s AI for Science & Engineering program and future AI programs.

NVIDIA will provide ANRF grantees with free access to NVIDIA AI enterprise software and expert technical guidance through the NVIDIA AI Technology Center. The partnership will also include AI bootcamps, workshops and hackathons to strengthen India’s AI research ecosystem.

NVIDIA also partners with prominent venture capital firms such as Peak XV, Z47, Elevation Capital, Nexus Venture Partners, and Accel India to identify and fund promising startups at all stages building AI solutions for India and internationally. More than 4,000 Indian AI startups have already joined the NVIDIA Inception program.
