The company uses artificial intelligence (AI) more widely in content moderation, which could put hundreds of jobs at risk in Tiktok's UK operations.

“We continue the reorganization that we began last year to strengthen our global operating model for trust and safety. This includes focusing operations in less places worldwide to maximize effectiveness and speed as we evolve this key function of the company due to technological advancements,” a Tiktok spokesman said.
Despite the cuts, Tiktok is still recruiting in the UK and said the company is on track to finish the year with more people than it was at the start of the year.
Tiktok said affected employees can apply for internal roles and that the appropriate candidates will be given priority.
Tiktok's human safety moderation team is trained to find accounts that children may use. You can then suspend your account. AI-based systems can identify information such as keywords and in-app reports from the user community.
Automated technology can also reduce human moderators' exposure to painful content. Tiktok said that this kind of content seen by moderation teams over the past year has dropped by 60%.

Tiktok's UK operations are subject to the UK's online safety law, which came into effect last month, and require an online platform to protect UK audiences from illegal material such as child sexual abuse and extreme pornography.
