Google CEO Sundar Pichai introduced the Google Bard AI chatbot in a blog post and shared the company’s recent AI priorities. Pichai expresses a passion for applying his AI research and development on the cutting edge to real-world problems.
Other organizations such as OpenAI have outpaced them in terms of AI development and applications due to technological advances and slow decision-making at large companies like Google. OpenAI is dedicated to producing high-quality models and allowing people to discover unique uses for them. Meanwhile, Google has worked to incorporate AI into its existing business plans.
Launched as a lightweight version of LaMDA on Google Search, the artificial intelligence chatbot Google Bard has the potential to revolutionize the way people find and use information online.
What is LaMDA?
LaMDA is the “language model” that people fear. After a Google employee believed her LaMDA was conscious, the AI made headlines for the impression it gave off in its response. Additionally, the engineers hypothesized that LaMDA, like humans, expresses anxiety through communication.
First and foremost, this is a statistical method for predicting the next word in a series based on the previous word. LaMDA’s innovation lies in the fact that it may stimulate dialogue in a looser manner than task-based responses. To allow conversation to flow freely from one topic to another, a conversational language model must be familiar with concepts such as multimodal user intent, reinforcement learning, and suggestions.
How to use Google Bard AI Chatbot
Update: You can try Google Bard now! Bard AI is apparently being previewed by Google for “Pixel Superfans,” but you don’t need to own a Pixel phone to join the service. You can sign up to be notified when Google Bard is available at bard.google.com.
A valid Google Account is required to participate. Also, you must agree to receive Bard-related emails in order to participate. It’s unclear how long the wait list will be, but if Microsoft’s Bing Chat is any indication, it shouldn’t take more than a few days.
Users in the US and UK can sign up for a waiting list, but Google is proceeding cautiously with Bard rollout, stressing that the AI chatbot will not replace search.
If you are selected as a beta tester, you can use the Google AI chatbot by simply opening the Google app on your smartphone and tapping the chatbot icon. As with ChatGPT, type the prompt and press Enter.

How to access Google Bard AI?

Before the update, only a few people had access Google Bard AI Link for testing purposes. To reduce the time and energy spent on computations, Google is developing a “lightweight model version of LaMDA”.
The Google Bard AI chatbot, known as Bard, is unfortunately not yet widely available. However, once the Google Bard AI link is shared, it will likely be integrated into Google Search and accessed by asking a question from the search bar. Chatbots retrieve information from the web and provide up-to-date answers to text prompts. While the exact release date for the Google Bard AI chatbot is still unknown, Sunder Pichai said on his Twitter account about his use of the API:

Google Bard AI and ChatGPT
The main difference between Google Bard AI and ChatGPT is Google Bard AI’s ability to take real-time events into account when generating responses. Google’s bard AI has yet to appear. However, according to recent updates, the differences with ChatGPT are:
- Google Apprentice Bard AI can answer real-time questions.
- To get normal search results when using Google Bard AI, you need to tweak your Google settings a bit. ChatGPT only returns text responses.
- Google Apprentice Bard is based on Lambda. ChatGPT, on the other hand, is based on GPT.
- ChatGPT has a unique plagiarism detector called AI Text Classifier. This feature is not yet available in Apprentice Bard AI.
