How AI cuts my daily reading routine for an hour

Knowledge is power, especially in today's world. But here's the catch. You need to apply knowledge.

This is why I don't want to spend too much time learning. I also want enough time to apply what I've learned.

In recent years, I have been reading more digital content. Previously, you would spend 80% of your reading time on books. Now that's less than half. And I usually read about two hours a day.

That's because anything related to technology changes so quickly today.

But the problem is that we are owned by the information. It's almost impossible to follow everything that's interesting or useful.

However, a new feature in ChatGpt has been called task It's made my reading life so simple. This feature is currently only available for payments by CHATGPT users. So, what I'm trying to share it only works if you have it.

I'm not affiliated with them. But I think this is worth $20 a month. Here's what the GPT task is doing (from the website):

You can create scheduled tasks that ChatGPT can run automated prompts and actively reach out to you on a scheduling basis. For example, you can ask ChatGpt to create a scheduled task.

– “Can you tell me about an AI News briefing in the afternoon?”
– “Practice French with me every day”
– “Remind me of my mother's birthday.”

When I first read this, I said, “What's new here? I don't need a reminder for my mother's birthday. If so, my phone can do that.”

But I started using it and it cut off at least an hour from my daily reading routine. This is how I use it.

How AI is helping me stay at the top of the news

One of my biggest time sinks was scanning a lot of websites for news updates. I continued to track companies investing, such as Tesla (TSLA) and Nvidia (NVDA), and provide information on market performance, announcements, or revenue calls.

Now, instead of manually searching for infinite articles and X, I use chatgpt.

  • Get a daily summary: Please give a brief update on “TSLA and NVDA News.”
  • Skip unrelated content: No more sifting through ClickBait or switching between websites.
  • Good reading experience: ChatGpt has apps for all platforms, whether it's iOS, Android, or Mac. And I actually like to read on the app.

Here's how to do that: Open ChatGpt and select ChatGpt 4o with a Scheduled Task Modeland then start chatting. This was my first chat:

This feels like a personal assistant is scanning top news sites and only providing insights that I care about. Below are other prompts you can use:

  • Compile economic news every Saturday at 10am (enter your country, city, or region)
  • Please give me an overview of everything that happened with AI every morning at 9am
  • We share our latest personal development list every Saturday (at least 100 reviews)

Other Applications: Curated content from my favorite authors

task It's not just about summarizing the news.

I'm a fan of writers like Robert Green, Paul Graham and Derek Shiver. I like to read their work, but I often don't read them. You know, life.

Now I streamlined this process:

  • Custom Overview: We are looking for ChatGpt for a “weekly summary of new articles and ideas from Robert Green, Paul Graham and Derek Sheeber.”
  • Focus on viable insights: If they publish something new or give an interview, I receive a neat summary without spending time tracking it.

It's like having a personal curator who knows exactly what I'm interested in.

Other Applications: AI as a Coach

AI is not just about news and articles. It is surprisingly effective for everyday habits.

Another way you can use ChatGpt is:

Morning motivation:ChatGpt can provide short motivational quotes, recommended exercises or variations, related YouTube videos, and even suggestions for high energy songs.

Prompts available:

“Please give me a short motivational quote, recommended exercises or my variations [insert workout routine, e.g., push-pull-legs or full-body]related YouTube videos for training guidance, and high energy song suggestions to start my day. ”

For example, you can adjust the routine or focus based on your needs.

  • “Focus on a 10-minute quick workout for beginners.”
  • “Include exercises for strength building or aerobic exercise.”
  • “I'll suggest a playlist to perform or lift weights.”

Infinite possibilities: Adjust your AI to your interests

“This is great for you, but I'm not interested in stock or AI.” The beauty of AI is its versatility.

Here are just a few examples of what you can do:

  • cooking: You'll be looking for “3 quick and healthy recipes to try this week” and get your custom meal plan in seconds.
  • DIY Project: Request “Beginner's DIY Weekend Ideas with Minimal Tools” and jump into a new hobby without endless searching.

The possibilities are endless.

An overwhelming flow of information can feel intimidating. However, AI allows you to filter and deliver what you need.

To make the most of it:

  • specifically: Clearly define your needs when asking ChatGpt for help.
  • Set a schedule: For example, Mondays, a trending large icture. Wednesday Friday for curated articles and motivation, Friday for project ideas and weekly reviews
  • Keep it to a minimum:I know, this is exciting! But don't schedule 100 tasks for yourself! You just focus on things already I'm doing it.

The goal is not to rely on all AI, but to save time and energy for what's really important.

Incorporating AI into my workflow has been the most exciting thing I've done in recent years.
