The union representing Hollywood's film and television crews said Tuesday it had reached a tentative three-year agreement with the major studios that includes wage increases and guardrails on the use of artificial intelligence.
Members of the International Alliance of Theatre Employees (IATSE), which includes lighting technicians and costume designers, are set to ratify the agreement with the Alliance of Motion Picture and Television Producers (AMPTP), which represents Disney, Netflix and others.
According to the union, the terms of the agreement include wage increases of 7 percent, 4 percent and 3.5 percent over three years.

With regard to AI, the contract includes “language ensuring that employees are not required to provide AI prompts in a manner that could result in the termination of a covered employee.”
In late 2023, the SAG-AFTRA actors union and studios reached a labor agreement, ending a nearly six-month dispute that had halted film and TV production.
The deal also included pay increases and streaming bonuses that union leaders said could amount to more than $1 billion over three years, and included protections for the use of AI in film production.
