AI Video & Visuals

Higgsfield, an AI technology platform designed for creators, has launched Upscale, a new AI-powered upscaling feature powered by Topaz Labs.

Best known for its professional grade photography and video editing software, Topaz Labs offers numerous AI-powered applications for photographers and videographers, including the upscaling software Gigapixel.

Available for both photos and videos, Topaz Labs' Gigapixel uses artificial intelligence to analyze selected images or video clips and intelligently add new pixels to increase the size of your content. Essentially, you create a larger canvas and use AI to generate the required pixels to fill in the gaps.

Regarding implementation in Higgsfield, subscribers can visit the Higgsfield website and drop images and videos into the web interface to upscale content.

The photos can be upscaled 2, 4, and 8 times using one of five different upscaling modes. 16x upscaling is also listed, but is particularly limited to low-resolution input images. Available modes include standard, high fidelity (for high resolution, for detailed visuals), text refinement, ART, CG (for CGI, logos, icons), and low Res modes built for low quality images such as web graphics and screenshots. The default model is Topaz's standard Gigapixel technology, but Topaz also offers Topaz Generic, which uses the Generated AI to add new details to the image. Higgsfield users can also adjust sharpness and removal and toggle specific face enhancement features.

There are many AI models available for different types of video content, including Proteus for general upscaling, portrait and facial iris, rare for 4K+ upscaling, Gaia for stylized video content, and promises to improve fine details and textures.

Users can control additional parameters such as compression, detail recovery, sharpening, noise reduction, halo reduction, grain, frame interpolation, and more.

Higgsfield upscaling is now available to all Higgsfield subscribers. Subscriptions start at $9 per month in the base tier and range from just under $150 for the finest creators. A complete breakdown of all plans including prices, credit allocations and features is available on the Higgsfield website.
