Haryana Police Cyber Cell Officer Amit Yadav said on his official social media account that the so-called 19-minute viral video is not genuine. He said the viral MMS content and the so-called “Part 2” and “Part 3” versions were likely created using artificial intelligence (AI). He warned that such fake and manipulated content will spread rapidly and mislead the public.
How to identify viral content generated by AI
The officer explained that anyone who suspects the 19-minute viral video is fake can verify it online. He said a platform called Sightengine can help analyze whether a video is real or generated by AI. Users can upload questionable content and check its authenticity.
He strongly advised social media users not to watch, download, save or share any version of the content related to the 19-minute Walla video or the 19-minute 34-second clip.
Legal implications of sharing viral MMS content
Police warned that sharing such content is a crime under India's IT Act. Under Section 67, a person who distributes obscene or objectionable material can be punished with imprisonment of up to three years and a fine of up to Rs 500,000.
Under Section 67A, sharing sexually explicit content is punishable by five years in prison and a fine of up to 1 million yen for first-time offenders, with even harsher penalties for repeat offenders. Sections 292, 293 and 354C of the IPC may also be applicable in cases involving obscenity and invasion of privacy.
