A simple car ride turned tense as a woman tried to test her husband's chastity through the car's AI assistant. The incident occurred inside a BYD vehicle. What happened next could be hilarious or horrifying, depending on your personal situation at the time.
However, this video went viral. It recorded 1.2 million views on Instagram.
“Did my husband have other women in the car while I was away?” the wife asked BYD voice assistant Xiao Fan.
The husband driving the car looked at his wife and smiled. But we know he's a little upset inside. Who wouldn't?
“I don't directly know whether your husband brought other women to Fangchengpu No. 8,” the AI assistant replied, much to the husband's relief.
If it had ended there, things would have been happy and rosy. However, modern AI tools have become so useful that they annoy my husband. What the AI tool said next must have scared my husband. However, he still looks happy.
“But we can give you some small tips to help you decide. First, check your navigation history. That is, if your navigation has an X store, or other sensitive location history in your car navigation, it will usually record your itinerary for the day,” says BYD's car assistant.
My husband was still smiling, but now he was even more curious. My wife, on the other hand, just eats snacks and soft drinks. Don't confuse her casual demeanor with a lack of interest. She's definitely getting attention.
“If one day your husband drives tens of kilometers more than usual, and it's not for an outing or a business trip, you need to ask him to give you a reasonable explanation,” the AI assistant further says.
“Second, observe the cleanliness of the car. If your husband usually doesn't pay much attention to cleaning the car… the windshield is covered with leaves, bird droppings, etc. But recently, if your husband suddenly becomes keen on car wash maintenance, cleaning the inside and outside of the car very carefully, and leaving paper, wipes, mineral water, deodorant, etc. in the car, the possibility of problems is relatively high,” Xiao Fan added.
“But before you find hard evidence, don't worry too much. You can find the right time to communicate better with your husband,” it further reads.
I don't know what happened next. To be honest, we are very “anxious and worried” about my husband's safety. And it's not just us.
China Insider, who shared the video, wrote, “The silence during that time was loud. This may be the most intense BYD ride ever. The passenger seat just unlocked a class 101 detective.”
“A casual ride in the BYD Fangchengbao 8 somehow turned into a soft-launch investigation. Manufactured by BYD, the Fangchengbao 8 (also known as the Leopard 8) is designed for tough roads and long-distance travel, and it turns out it can handle domestic tensions as well. Would you buy this car after watching the video?” it asked.
social media reaction
What a social media distribution!
One user quipped: “I really thought the car was going to run him out.”
Another person commented: “Seeing my husband smiling means he's safe.”
Another surmised: “The man is cooked.”
“BYD is a girl’s girl,” said another.
Another user posted: “Silent during that time. The husband is the owner and the wife is the co-owner. He answered diplomatically like our foreign minister.”
“Someone will eliminate AI soon,” another joked.
Another wrote: “Not everything needs AI by any means.”
“If I were that guy, I would have asked about the country Taiwan, or about the Tiananmen massacre. The evidence would be erased (along with me, my car, and my wife), but it would be worth it,” the political comment said.
A little update: The woman asked the same question again. Another video shows her asking again (she's persistent).
This time, the AI assistant advised her to have an “honest discussion” with her husband to clear up her doubts. It is unclear whether the suspect brought other women into the car. Good AI!
