Hapax Inc., developer of a proactive artificial intelligence platform for businesses, today announced the launch of a service that monitors how organizations operate and launches AI colleagues to automate tasks.

According to the company, the vision behind Hapax is to become an AI platform that understands business initiatives, finds gaps where assistance can be accessed without a human being present, and automatically builds solutions to fill those gaps.

The company argues that many of today’s AI tools are too passive. Chatbots wait for humans to contact them and respond to their questions. Many of today’s agent AIs are also activated based on interaction. At Hapax, we want to differentiate ourselves by walking into a building, looking around, discovering opportunities, coming back with a plan. AI should not require companies to adapt their tools, the company said. AI needs to adapt to business.

This is a bold vision of humans and AI agents working in parallel.

The company says Hapax’s model uses a unique world model that encompasses user interactions, business activities, data, storage, information flow, cause and effect, including networking.

Hapax has built its foundation on a highly regulated melting pot of AI for banking and finance, with a focus on incorporating enterprise-grade security and compliance from day one. This knowledge is leveraged by our new proactive AI colleagues, giving us the means to collaborate with non-technical teams.

It was in the banking industry that the company learned that traditional large-scale language models rely on traditional prompts and creative input, require excessive attention, and tend to deviate significantly from their original task without strict direction. This won’t work for platforms that need to be proactive and work with enterprise tools.

“Reaping the benefits of AI doesn’t require any extra time or technical skills,” said Hank Shields, founder and CEO. “Businesses don’t have to worry if their competitors achieve efficiency faster. With Hapax, everyone gets the power automatically. No coding, no vibes, etc.”

The way it works is that the platform monitors people’s work. If someone does the same task the same way week after week, we’ll emulate their use of that tool as closely as possible, building a custom workflow that takes data, looks at different elements, and delivers what they need at the right time. Then ask if you want to try it. This gives you the opportunity to fine-tune it to your needs and, over time, as your business and daily happenings change.

Hapax is here to help. It’s there for your co-workers, not a passive chatbot waiting for a ping to ring when you need it or for you to trip over something at your feet. “We’re building organizational intelligence, not individual productivity,” said co-founder Connor Huddleston.

The platform is already in beta and has completed over 350 proactive automations in one organization within two weeks.

Another customer that also uses Hapax internally is the Patriots’ Hall of Dripping Springs in Texas. The hall is a dedicated retreat and service hub for U.S. military personnel, veterans, and their families. The company said a week of testing the software showed fundamental improvements in efficiency and operational responsiveness.

“Overall, this tool has reduced our administrative burden, accelerated important projects, and enabled us to grow our fundraising and operations more effectively than our current team size.” Patriots Hall Executive Director Sharon Redeharth said in a statement.
