Lucknow: The state government is expected to use artificial intelligence (AI) to monitor social welfare schemes and ensure effective and transparent implementation.“This initiative aims to ensure that profits reach legitimate beneficiaries and make the management process faster, paperless and accountable,” said a government spokesman. The social welfare sector will become one of the key users of AI to monitor schemes such as geriatric pensions, family benefits, scholarships, and large marriage programs. A special workshop was held on the theme of “Using AI in Social Welfare Planning.” There, Minister of Social Welfare (Independent Request), Asim Arun, created a plan to recruit AI. The workshop discussed the impact of AI on data validation, beneficiary identification, and accuracy in scheme implementation. “Through data analysis, only real beneficiaries will have access to the scheme, but AI-driven verification speeds up application processing and fraudulent submissions are immediately flagged.
